Fire Station No. 39
This new, one company, two apparatus bay fire station for the City of Fort Worth is located in the prominent and rapidly growing southwest area of Fort Worth.
The environmentally sensitive building design included orientation on the site and design features to take advantage of prevailing winds and solar concerns. Additionally, the use of a ground source geothermal heating and cooling system and an energy efficient roofing system were incorporated into the design to maximize the energy efficiency of this fire station. The design also included private work/rest quarters for each firefighter and officer. Exterior features included light colored masonry colors to minimize heat gain and covered porches to provide additional solar protection and exterior living spaces for the fire fighters. An exhaust extraction system was also installed in both apparatus bays. |
